11-1 South Head Coach & 17-1 South Assistant Coach

Rose Cañas

Rose Cañas is currently a college student at UCO and this will be returning to coach both 11-1 South and to assist with 17-1 South. Last season her teams won their division at many tournaments throughout the region.

Aside from club, Rose is currently the head Junior High coach for Southmoore’s junior high program. The previous year she was the Freshman Head Coach at Southmoore High School. She also assisted the Varsity team with Amy Serowski.

Rose graduated at Southmoore High School where she played volleyball, coached by Janet Brannon for 3 years and Hunter Bishop for 1 year, and continued to play the sport at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma for a year. Throughout high school and college career, she has been playing all sorts of roles, but primarily the DS/Libero role.

She played at Charge and Southmoore High School at ages 13-18.

Awards received:

  • Freshman and Sophomore year of high school received the Southmoore Heart Award
    Junior year of high school received the Southmoore Coach’s Award – given only to 4 players throughout Janet Brannon’s 10 years at Southmoore
    Senior year of high school received the Leader of the Year Award
    Freshman year of college received an Honor Roll for the fall semester; In the spring received the 2020-2021 Commissioners Honor Roll in the Sooner Athletic Conference, as well as the SAC Academic All Conference
