This is Joey’s 13th year coaching for Charge and his 18th year coaching volleyball.
In his first year coaching the 14UA team, his team ended with a record of 59-22 and finished ranked 113th nationally! His team won OKRVA Regionals and qualified for USAV Nationals in Indianapolis. They finished tied for 33rd in the National division out of 48 teams. Along the way he had a player named as MVP of the OKRVA Regional Tournament and a player selected for the USA Girls’ Select A3 National Training Program. They tied for third in the open division in Omaha, tied for 9th in the USA division at Crossroads, and tied for fifth in the 15s age group at MLK in KC.
In Joey’s four years as the 15UA coach his teams had 182 wins and only 52 losses.  They placed 5th out of 115 teams at the Show Me National Qualifier, placed 9th out of 128 teams at the Colorado Crossroads National Qualifier, got 9th out of 173 teams at the AAU National tournament in Orlando, made gold twice at The Presidents Day Tournament in Omaha, won many tournaments including several 16s tourneys and they have placed in the top 4 every year at Regionals.
He has been a top National coach at the 16s and 17s level each year prior to his UA positions. He has coached club for 15 years.
Joey was the Varsity Assistant coach at Mount Saint Mary in 2016 when they won the state championship. Previously he was the Varsity Assistant and Head JV Coach for Edmond Santa Fe High School. Before that Joey was the Head volleyball coach at Bishop McGuinness High School for 2 years. During his time at McGuinness they were the state runner up his first year and they tied for third the second year. He also coached for 6 years at Westmoore High School, 4 years as the assistant and 2 as the head coach.
