Kyle Steele, of Oklahoma City, graduated from PC North High School and spent a year in Stillwater at OSU playing club ball before playing on the California Baptist University men’s team. Steele then became the lead assistant women’s coach at Redlands College and is currently the volunteer assistant at Southern Nazarene University, a position which he has held since the 2009 season. He has spent the last two club seasons coaching the 16’s and then 17’s for Kaizen out of Southern Oklahoma City. Prior to Kaizen he coached for OK Wind, taking charge of the 18’s age group. He is a well accomplished beach volleyball player as well the indoor game, finishing at the top of many regional tournaments in the summers as well as playing in the adult USA Open for indoor representing the lone men’s team from the OKRVA region. Steele, a former libero/outside hitter, specializes in teaching passing and defensive ball control and perfecting the approaches and arm swings of hitters by using a step by step process also making it a point to get young people to think through the game of volleyball and not just play it. He currently lives in Yukon with his wife, Taryn, who is in her senior season playing volleyball at SNU, and a 3 year old daughter Kambria. Kyle also is currently finishing his degree at SNU in the adult studies program, as well as working full time for White Fields Inc. |
